Project Background
Name of the project Sudan Round Trees network Initiative for Low Carbon Emission , Funded by the world Bank through MPIDO Sub grantees in Africa for six months (feb-July 2018) Funding 50.000 .
The Sudan Round trees networking initiative for low carbon emission and Green Future is aimed to strengthening the capacity of national and sub national stakeholders at all level such as governmental sector, academic and research sector. Civil society , NGOs, community based organization , indigenous community , local organization, Union of Gum Arabic, farmer and pastoralist, university and secondary school student, artist, journalist, woman and youth group in order to involve and contribute in the development of REED plus program in the future.
The vision is to consolidate the relation between different stakeholders at different level that for to accelerate the understanding of REDD plus concept through developing, creative’s for all community around the country . National network initiative play an essential role in the support of the REDD plus within the specific national and cultural context in which they operate. It could provide a platform for all stakeholders to come together to discuss how to make a practical contribution to REDD plus activities.

Project Goal
The overall goal of the network is to promote the sharing of REDD+ and climate change related information among the general membership, greater public and indigenous people in order to enhance effective engagement in the climate change and environmental debate at sub-national and national level, Also future thinking through green in action activities.
Project Objectives
- Establish network coverage all stakeholders, at national level and sub-national that for to support REDD plus process and start a dialogue on how the CSO initiative could add value to no-going efforts.
- Strength the local institutions capacity for better networking and coordination to joint their efforts in REDD plus process and climate change.
- Raise awareness and encourage involvement o multi-stakeholders at different level in the program of REDD plus.
- Establish a shared knowledge base and information for the participants and their organization on REDD plus include background and key concepts and implementation process.
- Support climate change mitigation and program of adaptation.
- Support forest based livelihood protection
- Consolidate and empowering REED plus communication, consultation and participation
- Draw map about green future vision.
- Encourage business sector and national private sector to involve and sponsor the activity of REDD plus.
Future Prospective
To enlarge the network to cover all the state of the sudan, and looking for establishing of the center that containing the information and data of the status of the each state based on the intervention activities implemented or need to be to take action for.

Why REDD+ is important?
REED+ encourages country to incorporate forestry and land management into nation strategies to combat climate change and will liver benefits yond financial centives, which cludes environment service biodiversity conservation, vital Sudan’s economy.
The direct driver to deforestation and degradation in sudan are related to wood resources as cooking fuel about 40% from the total of use of the forest, the mechanize from and pasture, in security and conflict (IDPS and refugees) in vestment and construction .

It is an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries and promote forest conservation , sustainable management of forests and enhancement of forest carbon stocks .
This program is an international mechanism that provides an incentive for developing countries to protect , manage and rational use of forest resources that to contribute to the global fight against climate change.
The main objective of the REDD+ mechanisms is to create an ecological balance and reduce greenhouse gas level in the atmosphere to level that reduce their risk to human life and well-being and reduce overall impact on the climate .
Sudan REDD+ Readiness becoming effective in 2014. The program has made significant strides in bringing to the fore, the growing threat of climate change on the economy, the poor and the vulnerable and the multifaceted role that forest can play in mitigating climate change impact on communities whose livelihoods depend on the sustainably managed forest. Forest , wood and range lands comprise about 35% of the total land area in Sudan and provided multiple service and benefits to the largely agrarian society (70%) work force are farmers).
